Understanding project goals & constraints & key questions

  • The project needs to be released in August 2021 so schedule is a key constraint.
  • What developer capacity exists to make back end changes for an updated user interface?
  • Do we update the registration process on the native app as well as on the web application?
  • How are we planning to measure the success of the project?
  • How much user testing of the prototype can be supported before it goes out to the delivery team?
  • What degree of automated form filling is practical?
  • Two designers (myself as the overall leader plus a front-end supporting designer) were allocated to the project
Problem Statement

Redesigning and refining the registration process by making it more efficient while simultaneously increasing the number of paid accounts.

Success measure of the product

The new registration process was released on schedule in August, 2021. In the first 6 months after release, iaai.com experienced a 7% increase in upgraded accounts. I also conducted 3 user testing sessions with 3-4 users per session after the project was released.

When asked about the efficiency of the upgraded registration process, more than half the participants scored the new process 9 or 10 out of 10.

Likewise, the average time it took for a user to complete the registration process was reduced 33% (from 15 minutes to 10 minutes).
